YET ANOTHER NICE SUMMER SUNDAY CONCERT SERIES IN SWEET & SUNNY DOWNTOWN OXFORD

SILK CITY at Shippen Manor

Shippen Manor free concert will present the string band SILK CITY featuring Larry Cohen, Barry Mitterhoff, and Danny Weiss with an acoustic sound as unique as their repertoire.

 Larry Cohen, a nationally famous bass player, has produced many innovative acoustic albums and has performed with Nick Jamison, Darol Anger, and Mike Marshall among others. His musical background includes classical, jazz, and rock music. Danny Weiss guitarist and lead singer has appeared with Tex Logan, Vassar Clements, and Dave Bromberg. His unique soloing has been recognized by Frets magazine and he was featured in Disney’s release of The Rookie. He performs nationally and internationally.    

  Barry Mitterhoff, on mandolin, is a member of Hot Tuna and has contributed to film scores such as You’ve Got Mail, Mickey Blue Eyes, The Rookie, and O Brother Where Art Thou? He has recorded and played with Tom Chapin, Hazel Dickens, Tony Trischka, and many others. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Library of Congress, the White House, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Rainbow Room, and at important venues throughout the world.
